Songs for Dead Girls

by Aaron Blair

They don't write songs for girls
with open insides, no odes to
viscera, no bloody kisses. They
give you no voice, only sand
into your wounds, the sound of
nothing becoming deafening
as your life seeps quietly out
and into the thirsty ground.

i echo what everyone has said, and then some. this is truly one of my favorites on this site... partially because i identify with it so well, partially because it is so well written.

Ye gods. Astonishing.

The truth is painful, this tears me to pieces

Aaron what can I possibly say when your poem is absolute perfection? It's definitely a great "look see" into a realm we try to ignore. ~~ Kyle Anne

you've inspired me- but I'm afraid to write right now because I might end up just copying exactly what you wrote down. so I'll wait, let it sink in. nice

Dead girls is dead on! To come from nowhere, this made a dead end to my favorites list.

i commented about this awhile ago, and i still love it. i actually put a tune to it... added to it. i'm sure it ruined it, but i felt like i had to do something with it.

The ones from out of nowhere usually are the great ones. And this is really one of them.
