Face to Face: 2 by Ashok ShardaThe inevitable surrender
I am tied to them
By virtue of their being
My being.
My endeavour to pull out
From their spell
Lands me in no mans land.
Delicately stuck
In the middle
I witness the ongoing war
Pondering on the probable war strategies.
The war comes to an end
With my inevitable surrender
Satisfying the irritable warlords.
I continue pondering
On the new war strategies
To be adopted
Before my yet another surrender.

Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 01/06/04 at 03:21 AM A fresh way to look at the human condition. But is surrender always inevitable? Perhaps it depends what that surrender really means. Thought provoking. |

Posted by Graeme Fielden on 01/07/04 at 05:00 PM this reminds me of a quote I read last week..."as a general rule, greater harm comes from indecision
than from a bad decision"...a thought provoking insight into the human psyche Ashok - thank you for sharing :) |
Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 01/07/04 at 05:55 PM Suberb 2nd half, with relevant theme...the many sides to our own personalities at war with one another. |
Posted by Rula Shin on 01/20/04 at 03:53 PM What can I say that hasn't alreay been said? Awesome 2nd half Ashok! In Face to Face 1 your imagery made me feel the physical reprecusions of the inner conflict. In Face to Face 2 you bring us inside and show us what's happening behind the scene! I just wonder which part of your self is surrendering to which part? Of course there HAS to be at least one surrender to end any war and begin a new one. Brilliant! |
