Clarisse by Maureen Glaude
Clarisse is a Canadian
who won't catch a cold
vitalized by vitamins, cod liver oil
and the vote, I am told
she drapes herself in the immunity
of democracy's robe
actively she listens, tuque tight over her earlobes
against all the ill windedness of Parliament Hill's
old fogies
Clarisse, the Canadian's
candour burns bold
