6 AM

by Quinlan L Gibson

Alarm clock sounds at 6AM
and I rise
un-beautified.
And still wish
you were there beside me.
Home in the evening
eyes tired
almost expired
wanting you to come home to.
I crawl into bed
lay down my head
reach for you as though you were there...
and start dreaming.

If we didn't get mushy from time to time... we wouldn't appreciate the hard nearly as much! Great verse. ;)

"and I rise/un-beautified." ahhhhhh...yes, hair a mess, sleepy eyes.... wonderfully real, warm-hearted piece. lovely. truly.

Who can shut up dreams? You know you were in dream when you walk out of it. The associations never dies. Not even in dreams. What clicks it is the intensity of desires. Can you shut them up? haha

Quinlan... wow. The days take care of themselves, but its the beginning and endings that feel so damned lonely. So well said.

This is really sweet and aptly expressed in its longing. Not mushy at all Quin.
