Dream Lover by Traci MabatsI lay next to you at night
with my head on the pillow
and I dream
of a knight in shining armor
who isn't afraid to tell me
that his heart beats
the syllables of my name,
that time stands still
during the embrace of
my lips..
I dream of a lover
who patiently paints my portrait
with the brush strokes of his tongue
Whose breath upon my body
makes me tremble,
whose touch could make me burst
I reach for him
but only grasp air 12/18/2003 Posted on 12/19/2003 Copyright © 2024 Traci Mabats

Posted by Maureen Glaude on 12/19/03 at 01:01 AM that his heart beats the syllables of my name. wow, that's my favorite line, but it's all a lovely fantasy. well done |
Posted by Richard Trotter on 12/19/03 at 09:51 PM very enjoyable. I particularly like the sensuality of the last 6 lines. |
Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 12/20/03 at 01:55 AM This poem reminds me of how I dream on a regular basis of a girl I had a crush on as a teenager. You words ring so true so true. These lines are among the best I've read in a long time anywhere: and I dream
of a knight in shining armor
who isn't afraid to tell me
that his heart beats
the syllables of my name, PS: Thanks also for kudos as per POTD!
