Speak Softly to My Heart by Cathlyn CartierSpeak softly to my heartÂ…
Echo whispers
Like the wind
Drive away the chaff
Of unfruitful seasons
Trickle faintly
Like a spring-time brook
Filter through the hidden crevices
Cleanse away the silt of broken promises
Pour hyssop
Upon my bosom
Anoint with frankincense and myrrh
Heal the bruises of forgotten dreams
Speak softly to my heart
Lest your words be lost forever
Speak softly
Of friendship, love and hope
Speak
12/18/2003 Author's Note: Hyssop, Frankincense and Myrrh have been noted since ancient times for their medicinal/healing qualities and were highly valued because of this.
