The Feather of your Fingertips by Alison McKenzieThe feather of your fingertips
Whispers against my skin
With such delicate desire
I find myself heady,
Sharply inhaling for the shocking pleasure
That starts with your touch
But soon saturates surrounding tissue
With anticipation
Of the next pass
Your eyes implore hungrily
Into mine
Moving to my breasts,
As you incline your head to regard them
Drinking in the soft peaks
Pleased as they suddenly stand erect and alert
Waiting with anticipation
So long have they been
Without a caress to call their own
My hands reach into the short silken strands
Which frame your gorgeous face
My fingers drink in all they can take
The short whiskers
Which might become your next beard
Delight the softness of my caress
Your searching lips
Return on their journey
To explore my collarbone,
My neck,
My earlobe,
My cheek
And finally my own lips
Which open, hoping to savor
The tiniest sample of your essence
There.
As we kiss,
I feel the rush of pending fusion,
The decadent osmosis,
Of two bodies becoming one,
Two souls blending in the exquisite dance
Which is our love.
My spine arches in answer
To your rigid determination
To penetrate the deepest regions of my universe
Places never traversed by the likes of other men
Terrain untamed and untouched
Except for the presence of you
The symphony of our hearts beating,
Our bodies dancing to ancient rhythms,
Ebbs and flows briefly
Until the crescendo advances
Like Thunder rumbling in the distance
Building as a wave,
Closer,
Closer still
Then
CRACK
The explosion of lightening
Closes the circuit in a blinding, brilliant flash
As we lay back, breathless from the storm
The sound of the rain gently quiets the climax,
Easing it into the subtle recess of memory.
Our souls, relieved and revived
Lay in their own spaces once again
While the feather of your fingertips
Whispers me sweetly to sleep.
