Meet You At The Top...

by J. P. Davies

Your insecurities are written
in salt-driven channels, coursing.
Making me wonder why you can't see.
You, The most beautiful creation
are lost on yourself.

Your worth is beyond measure.
Never forget, I will always be here.
It saddens me to know it could never be.
Idealistic situations were never ours.
Happy, knowing you're out there...
Living the dreams.

Never look back...
I'm a support, not an anchor.
I'll meet you at the top.
This world isn't too big
for both of us to climb.

So keep a look out for me,
when you're sitting at the pinnacle.
I'm not far behind.
It's just easier to follow a path
that you know someone else
has walked it first.

Although unique it has some heartwarming and sad parallels to my Years From Now piece. Worthy addition to the "Kindred Souls" category.
