! . ?

by Max Bouillet

I am! (birth)
I am. (life)
I am? (death)

I am a constant --only the punctuation changes.
I am trapped between an exclamation point
and a question mark,
searching for an infinite ellipsis...

By the way,
this is a lie and everyone's laughing at you.

An intriguing thought.. but not overdone and beaten to death. Very interesting - I really like this piece.

So the cynic states! Thought provoking as usual. :) But there is a Reality which does away with punctuation. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life! Birth, life, death become a seamless robe in His hands.

I love this.. it is very well done. There is depth yet humor in it. This part could be a poem all on it's own "I am a constant --only the punctuation changes. I am trapped between an exclamation point and a question mark, searching for an infinite ellipsis…"

Heh heh... and even better when we laugh at ourselves! Max, this is great.

And of course life is also peppered with at-signs, pound signs, dollar signs and percents as well! (@#$%!!!) Kidding-- extremely creative approach to life. Hopefully we will all make a slow progression from the ! to the ?

And the Wheel of Life keeps turning, doesn't it, Max? Wonderful work!

good form, matey, good form... ::shakes head::... i sure hope you get spotlighted soon, all the world needs to read your words... excellent, as usual... blessings...

Well, those punctuation marks speaks a lot. Who I am ? basically is a nonsensical question. Since I am is only real when I AM. I AM with a full stop is a complete answer.

ROFLMAO. *chuckling all the way down.* man. okay. this owns. like, seriously, and i think that i shall pass you my goddess scepter, and like, uh, dub you Sir Laugh At The World A Lot. O.o no, wait. that doesn't quite suite. I WILL COME UP WITH SOMETHING, MARK! MY. WORDS?

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MYYYYYYYYYYY GOODNESSSSSSSSS I thought I was about to be busted for lack of any kind of punctuation and other assorted Fox paws in my poetry when I read the title. This is so great!?. I adore it_ I think I like the fill in the blank approach the best! LOL:-)

I couldn't exactly say why I'm amused, but I'll go with it.

i love this! it is oh so clever. could you be anymore brilliant?

I loved this, all the way until the last line...it ruined it for me. i was elated reading about the ellipsis, and question marks. The first part with the "I Am"s was very relative to what life is. and then i'm smacked in the face at the end. perhaps that is what you were going for, you poetical genius, you. but as a reader, i'd much prefer the read without the last remark. Happy Holidays!!

Heh. Indeed. Punctuation can be used subtly or blaringly, and I think you've found a very happy medium here that is almost as telling as the words you choose. And of course, your message is brilliant. We expect nothing less at this point, you know. ;) Really, this is very well-done. Can't believe it took me this long to read this!
