Timmy's Question Answered by Kate Demeree
Santa's Answer
Santa settled Timmy a little closer On his knee He stroked his beard, And rubbed his nose Before he smiled Oh so sweet
"Son, your mother told you Of that Christmas long ago Because your mother loves you And wanted you to know Christmas is more Than fancy lights It can't be bought In any store Oh
Timmy Christmas Is so much more
The baby in the manger That was the Son of God A gift so very special One given out of love Yes Tim there were Angels singing In the sky
Timmy looked in wonder At the tears In Santa's eye
He said "I'm sorry Santa I don't want to Make you cry But you see I Wondered So I just had To ask you why:"
Santa gave a jolly Chuckle And Tim a little squeeze Deep inside his heart He couldn't be more pleased
"Timmy, that tiny baby The one who didn't cry He gave me the reason To load my sleigh And fly His was the gift of love You see he brought it to all men Some day Timmy He will come again
Until he does I do my part Bringing to the children Gifts from the heart You may not always get The gift you ask me for There may not be Fancy wrap Like you see here In this store But Timmy The ones you receive Are given in loving memory Of that first Christmas Eve"
11/30/2003 Author's Note: For years my children questioned Christmas and Santa, as they grew the need to answer them grew in me. This was my answer to them. I hope that you have enjoyed both Tim's Question and Santa's Answer...

Posted by David R Spellman on 12/05/03 at 08:39 PM Something every child should be told and hopefuly understand - that there is so much more to Christmas than the commercial and materialist season it has been turned into. A must read I agree, for all the ages! |
