Pumpkin

by Charles E Minshall

My legs are weak,
They won't carry the weight
Of a thanksgiving dinner
With all that I ate.

Thank heaven
For my easy chair.
I'll have pumpkin,
If there's some to spare.

Overeat in order to overeat! You catch the essence of the Thanksgiving feast! A gentle jab at overindlugence. Your usual clever wit on display.

there's always some to spare on thanksgiving. BRING ME A BUCKET!

Ah... Charlie.. this is wonderful. You capture that just finished with dinner feeling so well. Isn't it just too funny how we do always want that piece of pumpkin even when we think we can't eat one nibble more?

Witty little ditty indeed... oh the price of gluttony!

A true slice of turkey day, well done.

Hehe - you've really captured the gorging that often occurs with the Thanksgiving dinner. And oh, that little piece of pumpkin pie can weigh so much! Good one Charles.
