"destined" (i have knees)

by Rachelle Howe

i'm waiting for the mood to strike.
waiting for time to
take me by the throat and
throw me into your threshold.
waiting for the world
to stop spinning long enough
for me to catch air.

i've flown on you,
your wings,
your spine,
your legs.

i've held you there.
i've encamped our every essence, and
thought to the stars that they weren't
bright enough in your shadow.
they couldn't want for more,
to coexist.
to be one with the eternal.

i've been broken upon your shores.
last decade, last life, we were torn,
though now the shreds
have made a whole new remnance.

i relish the courting,
the wax and wane.
i relish these limbs of ours,
that lay here,
content and silent.

Author's Note: okay. there are a couple things in here that only jennifer will get. either way, i hope the emotions bleed through. its hard for me to write about her. i go tongue tied every time.

Sometimes its nice to be tongue-tied! Anyway I think the emotion comes through just fine. Great read with great word choice!!! :)

the emotion bleeds through beautifully...this is the loveliest poem...it flows almost magically...

Yes. Yes, indeed.

This just might be my favorite from your library. Cliche as it sounds, the imagery really is amazing! :)

a whole new remnance - language in rebirth, never content...
