oleander set among milkweed. by Andrew S Adamsyour flowers came today,
the delivery boy said he'd
stopped by yesterday, but
i just laughed at him.
after all, this is rather trivial-
it's just a bunch of
sexual appendages-
(all these floral phallic references)
he could have been delivering
a dildo, if it were all the same
to you.
I just wanted you to know that
these things go deeper
hurt more
and leave a scent you can never
replicate. you're left with
the thorns of the flower,
where the petals
always
pull to "he loves me not".
your flowers came today.
they looked beautiful, so
i stuck them in a vase.
take a look at them-
when you realize i wrote you this note for a reason. 11/19/2003 Author's Note: this is really my first attempt at writing through a more female voice. ¿whaya think?
