Consequences

by Lori Johnson

Tiny little pieces of what
once was lain scattered about.

Fragments of what used to be
form bitterness and doubt.

Some puzzles are not to be solved,
this seems to be the case.

Just as memories are to be reminders
that can never be erased.

the simplicity and depth to this makes my heart sing, though the remorse is still there, deep. and i love what you've plucked from me, darling, you've kept me a seed. i hope i grow.

Poignantly expressed, part of the human condition without the grace of God. Only He can soften the memories, take away the bitterness and doubt.
