love story by Laura Doom
the smell of you upon my lips
your heat between my fingertips
the very instant I awake
a habit I am loath to break
your inspiration stimulates
a cloud of thought that elevates
my lust for life, my fear of death
a fire that leaves me short of breath
I crave your calming influence
and, though I'm told it makes no sense
my head ignores the warning signs
despite the fact my heart declines e

I die as I expel your waste t
when, in your absence, I can taste e
a fragrance in the air, and yet... r

Posted by Mara Meade on 11/16/03 at 08:00 PM Sad that something so sensory can be so bad for you. I love the way you curled the cigarette smoke up around the body of the poem. Woo-hoo, girl, you've got a good one here. |
