misunderstood faith

by Michele Schottelkorb

we answer our calling

through the gentle sound of a breeze

from our ancestors

rich in tradition

we find our own eclectic way

through the path of misunderstanding

we ask one thing of those

who claim to know our “ill” intentions:

to close your eyes and listen and learn and love and know this:

we are the same

Author's Note: i am not sure i understand some of the discussion on the site right now about faith and the intolerance of it... i am extremely tolerant... of GOOD people... no matter their personal beliefs... however, faith is important to each person individually and i believe should be respected as such... it is interesting the intolerance and misunderstanding of religion when, when you break it down to the bones, all GOOD people, with GOOD morals and values and beliefs ARE THE SAME... there are BAD people in all religions... it's too bad that more people do not understand this... those who are intolerant would do well to go to an Interfaith Event... it's amazing the absolute love and GOOD you find there... from all major religions...

Well, Faith is absolutely a personal thing. And it should remain so.'we are the same', whether its our approach to the basic human problems or a quest for the miraculous. What matters is the concept of greater goodness. What matters is the internalization of this concept.

Timely and well worded reminder Michele. We all have to sit on toilet seats, although some prefer square to round. :o)

Very well said...this world would benefit from more people having that view!
