The Kill

by Kimberly Bare

pure-white swan
glittering upon irredescent waters
floats lazily as
hazy twilight
drops in and
languid violet settles

silver-moonlight-stream
drifts through the
swaying branches to create
an ebb and flow of shadow

a cresendo of crickets
keep tempo to the soothing
melody of katydids

sanctuary

broken

as crimson-tipped
dragon wings
blot out serenity

stricken
one sanguine feather
floats away

The imagery in this piece is natural and vivid in a very earthy sense! It imprints images into the mind that brings one closer to the scene. Great word choice and the flow feels like waves or ripples on water. Exquisite crafting!
