Stars and Waters

by Leonard M Hawkes

I learned your patterns
Near Box Elder Creek,

Worshiped you high
Up on the Snake,

Felt your comfort
Along the Rhine,

Your friendship
On Pacific's shore.

I've seen you mirrored
In the cold blue Bear,

Eluding fog in
Cache wintry sloughs;

But here on the banks
Of Willow Creek,

You're simply
The Lights of Home.

I like the brevity of this poem in relation to how much it expresses! meanwhile In the blank spaces a thousand images roll by. Congrats on POTD :D

I enjoyed the continuity in all these different places on earth you have enjoyed, a reflection of your travels grounded by your appreciation of home. Thank you and congrats on POTD!~
