didgeridoo

by Indigo Tempesta

i sat
i sank
in(to) my chair
in(to) my glasses
in(to) my tension
un(til) the door
       opened
       and
                 in he
                           came
 (not far enough, but)
             watching me for
                                         signs
                                                 with a
                                        didgeridoo.
"you can blow." that's questionable. but i'll try.

"there's poetry tonight. at talcott.
                                                                 ...you should read something."

he was watching me for signs
as i was watching him for clues
as i was watching the air for words

"no...i've got this work to do, see..."

           i smiled, the
                          murmur in my blood
                                      creeping into
    my lips
             --a pure smile
             --a smile of pure
poetry

Dates me I know, but what is a didgeridoo? LOL! You have captured the aura of the moment in the form the poetry takes.

Wow, I am blown away...This, to me, had a powerful feeling to it. It sucked me right in, I loved it!

The image is an odd one that leads the reader into an almost altered state..... great verse that truly leaves an impression!
