in the beginning, god forgot about law enforcement. by Andrew S Adamswalking down the street
from the corner where the metro let me off-
step, step, step. i see a figure
running from someone's house,
with a rather nice stereo in hand.
it's my house, that's my stereo.
this is my life, and it is
getting
very
annoying
at this point.
seeing this figure run so fast,
i calmly reach into my coat-
put my finger on the trigger,
it's a .45 colt;
i'm not insane, i dont aim to kill-
so i shot him in the arm. teach
the punk a lesson, ya know?
you just dont run down the street
with a man's pride and joy in your hands-
but hey, it's just a stereo. i'm sure it's far worse for him,
when he gets home to his wife and kids.
"oh this hole in my arm? yeah... some looney
tried to shoot me
while i was stealing his stereo.
you know how it goes."
rather akward?
suffice it to say, he was angry,
so the next day, same time, same scene,
i'm walking home, from where the metro drops
and i notice some moron's house on fire-
it's my house.
this bastard who stole my stereo,
torched my house.
sucks for him;
he has my stereo,
but i have my gun-
that's not an enviable position.

Posted by Cathlyn Cartier on 10/01/03 at 01:05 AM Hmmm.... in some frightening way I relate to this, and I don't consider myself to be violent in nature, at least not in my actions, although I can think up some pretty horrid methods of revenge. lol... anyway, I liked this a lot, and it even made me smile (my sense of humor is as bad as yours I guess) |

Posted by Cole Miller on 10/01/03 at 06:29 PM i too ama little iffy on the ending... but never the less well written andrew. |
Posted by Laura Doom on 10/05/03 at 10:03 PM The weapons effect - I have to be satisfied with violent thoughts, & though I guess this affords a greater range than a piece of hardware, it's usually me who gets hurt. Maybe if I had a weapon I'd pre-empt the event - any potential thief would be put to flight (winged?), or decommisioned (disarmed?)
Somehow I don't think I'd make it through to the report |
