(chicago 14) exit one.

by Andrew S Adams

from this spot, on the road where i sat
just five days ago
writing poems about the road,
bein bumpy on the route to chicago,
it's easy to see how my influences changed-
see, then i was listening to weezer-
now atmosphere is playin my game.
up and down, the wheels bounce
tractor trailers riding on rims
see, i just smoked an ounce
before mid-wisconsin.
so, i'm just kiddin anywho
you know i dont smoke-
and there aint no rims,
just a stpid joke
with four plus lines explainin
what i'm sayin and writin;
internal curses,
cos this verse is rhymin-
dont wanna be hallmark,
and i aint eminem.
not biggie or tupac,
or this poems best friend.
so, if you will, lemme begin,
calling this the ending-

cos that' the end.
