Running Scared

by Quinlan L Gibson

How dare you!
Accusations fly high, when you're running
scared.
You don't believe me? Prove it or we're through?
I've got better things to do, than lie to you.
Not one reason you can give, not a leg to stand.
Why should I believe you've been a faithful man?
We start off clean-slated. Un-tainted.
Captivated.. by what we've found in each other.
Now you run from the love of your lover? Running scared.
If you cannot trust, we cannot win.
No matter what lies you've caught ex's in.
Not me, my mind produces the truth..in light
It's why you'll toss and turn tonight
I'll sleep tight..the truth does set you free.
If you cannot trust, let me be.
Run scared.

A very strong emotional poem

Much truth and wisdom throughout this. I especially like the line: We start off clean-slated. Un-tainted. Though hard to believe based on your own reality, after reading some of your recent journal entries.
