if only he could have stayed comatose forever...

by Olivia Weinkein

i was a lonely man's dream

until he woke up.
now he no longer has any excuses left
and i only have a tattoo of a name
of a person i never really knew.
(nevermind that it's my own, nevermind..)

i wish i could claim that something or other
made this worth it. but the only something
or other i can think of is miles away from me
dreaming up yet another scenerio to fit himself
into.
and i wasn't afraid until i stopped screaming.
i wasn't afraid until he bursted my bubble.

i really don't like being a lonely man's dream
unless of course,
he never wakes up.
then,
i could dance like that forever.

to think that your whole existence is someone else's dream is a very cool idea to me. But then you have to think if the people you dream about are thinking the same thing...

unfortunately dreams aren't quite neverending as we wish they could be. i like the familiarity to the reader that "(nevermind that it's my own, nevermind..)" conveyed. made me feel like we were great friends...~JPP
