workplace blues by Michele Schottelkorbirritating circumstance
breeds hatred in this shell
just a small little slight
plummets us straight to hell
a nasty look, a blatant stare
can erupt an earthquake here
mindfully the callous shred
~internally the masses tear
one small smile can mend the rip
and send chaos on its way
until the petty trivialities
begin a different day 09/18/2003 Author's Note: this is about my work... but, upon second look, i can relate it to my house and other places... can you?

Posted by Don Coffman on 09/19/03 at 05:56 AM It makes me think of the saying 'familiarity breeds contempt.' An excellent bit of poetry, very much captures that sense of day to day annoyance with situations/people/things. |

and send chaos on its way'
You said this beautiful. |
