Musings on a love gone astray...

by J. P. Davies

The comforter pulls back
to reveal that you're not there
I left you, you left me here
tell me does this seem fair?

You went on your way
to stardom and acclaim
while here I am just wanting
a small peice of your fame

This hasn't taken place
but I fear that it may
be one regret of mine
when I look back someday

So tell me you can hear me
when I shout it in your face
that others they may try
but never take your place

So show me a way
to get you out of my dreams
I tried to shut you out
but it was harder than it seemed

Just listen to me ramble
and pine away for you
I just hope tonight
maybe...you'll dream about me too

Because then maybe you'd see
how we complement and match
Because you could be the shining star
who's light I seek to catch

So when you walk away from me
don't let my tears disway thee
I'll flow a river of pain to you
so maybe you might see me

How you who changed my life
aren't that far away at all
you're living in my dreams again
there beside me after all

Outstandingly intense. Excellent portrayal of romantic polarization.
