Forceful Abyss

by Jacki M Butler

What is it about the water

Its ever steady presence

Its abyssful solemnity

The breeze that always seems to roll off

Faint lapping of waves on the shoreline

What is it that draws me here

When I am lonely or blue

It's like a huge hand urging me forward

Toward the stone wall

Toward the quiet

So that I may find peace in my solitude.

Powerful verse that screams in its silence. Thanks for sharing.

Haunting and compelling read Jacki. I especially like the ring and meaning of this line: Its abyssful solemnity
