None of It

by Amber B

Last little moment of freedom
last breath of fresh air

stale air
crowded air

confined to small places in society
leaving behind no legacy
no difference to be made
nothing to be said of
or heard of

a cell
a prisoner of materialism
of everything our country stands for
others yearning to achieve
but too consumed by greed

white space
pretty lakes and majestic mountains
friendly people
passing around the cool liquid
that turns one into a different person

Fun
may the word perish in my life
as I seem to be having
none of it

This is an excellent verse filled with social commentary. Great read that really gets you thinking.
