A Butterfly's Wings

by Melissa Arel

Feeling the flutter of a butterfly’s wings,
I wonder if its you.. and then I know.

Wanting so much to hold you and kiss your innocent skin,
I fear tomorrow may never come.

Waiting for the day when we look in each other’s eyes
For the very first time,
I know my life will never be the same.

Watching you grow in the swell of my womb,
Feeling your every movement –
I pray and I ache for that moment
When heaven opens and you come down..

Its then, right then, I’ll know what it means to be your mother.

Such adorable and sweet! This is so beautiful! And if you ask me...you'll already know how it feels to be a mother!

Wow that's breathtaking! That beats the heck out of the Creed song (arms wide open). :) Absolutely beautiful.

Eloquent and beautiful. A wonderful verse that defines that perfect moment in human existence.
