Loving Embrace

by Brian Francis

Your eyes refuse to take me in
Your face just looks away
And I, my need ignored again
Will lay on my side and embrace you
If only my eyes can hold you
Then I’ll lay awake and hold you close

Because I love you and so much more
Because I’ve always been only yours
Because eternity can be so brief
I will love you with every breath I breathe
And never betray that love

When In the morning those first pale rays
Bring your eyes to mine and smile
I see your love; that makes me love you
I see your heart again laid bare
When with the rustle of the sheets
You roll to me and taking me in you arms
I cry, as peace engulfs my soul

Poignant expression of longing that I sure can relate to. Nice work!

PS: I especially like this line: Because eternity can be so brief

This one definately has the warm and fuzzies. Smooth tone and sweet delivery, Brian. Peace...
