Triptych by David NeubauerIt was a warm rain, the kind
that soaks through to the skin,
makes your clothes sticky,
while you drink the air, sweet
as any blackberry wine.
~
The beach was majestic that day,
the bleached cliffs lit by the bonfire,
oranges crowning muted night air,
the smell of the salt water rising up,
...entwined with the smoke,
.......somewhere close to paradise.
~
A fluid moment, lost in the
space between, the moment of
relaxing. Suspended
in a swimming pool, staring up
at the neon halo of the sun
shining through closed eyes. 08/22/2003 Posted on 08/23/2003 Copyright © 2025 David Neubauer

This is a nice walk on the beach. Thank you for my sunset lullaby. |
