bright lights lost beauty.

by Andrew S Adams

the stars are out tonight-
i wonder if the city ever cared,
it's skyscrapers rape the night of dignity,
brightlightscanceloutbeauty.
i've taken notice to the subtlety of the sky,
where 'endless' is more than just a term for a one year marriage,
and wishing goes upon the earth.

i'd like to be out there where the stars wish upon me,
where the nights are infinite and i can just be with you,
and where now is actually forever.

i'll concede to the cities that can touch the sky,
they can have their pieces.
we can get away from there
be pure, beautiful and complete.

and, should the urge arise,
we could always drift to the city,
where no one would ever know our names.

Interesting poem, very haunting and ironic.

the second bit is my favorite, about the stars wishing upon you, it sounds just, so lovely and makes me want to be a part of it.
