Memories Rain

by Kate Demeree

Memories Rain

I still miss you
As much now as if it were
Today you went away
The sofa by the hearth
Empty testament blue reminder
Of sunshine, half smiling eyes
Asides shared by two
That a flash spotlights
Highlights, captures

Faded memories
Packed away from sore eyes

I hear your laugh sometimes
When the wind ceases to howl
Between trees riotously waving green scarves
To the clouded sky

A seductive rumble
Weakening my knees
Catching me unaware
In yesterday

Blue, pinned by blue
Held in beloved hands
Where hello becomes good-bye
Becomes I love you
I love you not

Green, turns to amber, to red
Falling,
Falling,
  F
    A
      L
        L
          I
           N
            G
           Into
         Yesterday

Deftly beautiful....and strongly felt..."Between trees riotously waving green scarves To the clouded sky "...beautiful imagery Kate...a wonderful poem!

there are equisite lines in here, sweet and yet not so tender one could not use them as bridges to cross the laden eye.
