the loneliness of summer by Philippa JaneI felt so lonely today.
By sunset I had crawled
into bed, a disjointed
heart
surrounded by deadweight
limbs,
wrapping thoughts of
you around me
like a
blanket -
and yet it's (still)
easier
to breathe when
I'm so
close
to choking. 07/11/2003 Author's Note: Perhaps still in the works, but complete.. for now. A tad shorter than what I usually write, though.

Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 08/14/03 at 05:00 PM I really enjoyed the imagery and expression in this. I'd even chop off that last stanza; more impact that way. |
