(chicago 08) ships.

by Andrew S Adams

i am dreaming tonight, under thoughts on the peir.
let the water wash me away,
let the freedom wash over me.
somewhere in sanity,
the blur of what has stayed
can only be decided upon by the soul
that left too long ago.

i am wishing the ships that carried away that soul
would return for the body.
ships, take me away.

This leaves me curious for the whole story.
