Aqueous

by J. P. Davies

Pearlescent droplets
of stinging brightness.
Running, carressing
leaps and bounds.
Thrown as from a trebuchet,
from the warm, rough cliff.
Rush of wind, stings eyes
as water rushes closer.
Slap on feet,
as the sinuous surface
is broken into a multitude.
Shining diamonds
tossed tumultuously into the sky.
The world turns green
as the liquor of life
embraces you.
Feel the heart of the river,
sonorant around you.
Surface back to wind
and turbulence.
Water is cessation.
Water is redemption.
Flow of life,
defined in stone.
Confluencing you but briefly,
before ensuing it's jouney
to the salty shores.
Where gulls wheel,
and children run back
from each vociferous wave.
Water is no longer peace.
It is dynamism,
unbounded by stone.
Raw in essence.
Proud and steadfast.
Fluid harnessed.
Boundless energy.

Awesome, really powerful.... you should considering putting it in this months contest, if you haven't already :)

Drenching imagery accentuated with a great vocabulary... I literally felt baptized after reading this. Extremely well crafted.

Lively tribute to that elemental life giving (and sometimes taking) force!
