catatonic state

by Michele Schottelkorb

screaming with rage

inside of her head

it’s days like today

she feels like she’s dead

clouded brain muddled

twisted thoughts emerge

catatonic state

she hasn’t a surge

they tell her she’s “right”

when there “is no fault here”

words of her lover

fall on a deaf ear

daily changes

confuse her mind

suffocated she feels

can’t get out of this bind

innocence lost

replaced by fear

all summed up

into one tiny tear

MIchele, I just love the way you flow this great big ocean of a poem and culminate it into a teardrop.

Some of the most powerful poetry ever has come from the "ohwoeisme" feelings. Great outcry that echoes within the reader's soul. Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful flow in this, it's almost got a beat to it, and plenty of interesting phrases. 'woeisme' can make for some excellent creativity.
