monument fall

by Andrew S Adams

i am a monument, screaming from the bottom of the depth
the oceans will cover me, envelop me in their beauty
but soon i will rise, a monument fallen
and a new hope awakened.
i will talk to the sky in close company
and comment on how beautiful it's clouds are.
ask him how mom is doing,
chit-chat. and soon, we will have passion
a a dream between water and sky,
fully realized in the climax of a storm.

i was once a mighty monument,
thankful now that i fell.
i have a secret love of which
i am sworn to hide from the world;
the earth would not approve of the sky
having a mistress.

but the earth, having cast me out
tossed me into the wake of the tide.
so there i lay, washing to the bottom
until the sky beckoned me to love it.
and for all of this, i do.

Wow...some many things at once that I can't possibly arrange them into a language I know.
