a rocket to the sun (at night) by Andrew S Adamsi dont want to dream of you tonight,
thank you, but the buzzing flourescence
is enough to keep me company.
injected into my collapsing veins, a
rocket to the sun will carry me away-
something in me certainly feels burnt out.
maybe my aim will fail me, shoot the moon
and be left without the company of hope.
i guess i have a dream buzzing around in my head-
dreaming of dreams, almost too evasive to be true.
at least i have the gentle hum of painful flourescence
to numb me to sleep,
where i will combust on my rocket to the sun. 07/19/2003 Posted on 07/20/2003 Copyright © 2025 Andrew S Adams

Posted by Sarah Graves on 07/21/03 at 09:37 PM I liked the rocket imagery. This is my first time reading one of your poems. I think I shall read some more of yours. |
