Devil Word by Glenn Currier
Come on back from that purple ridge
Come on back from that purple ridge,
come back now.
When I said that word,
that awful word
that devil love.
We can make it, we can make it loud.
We can break it, can forsake it proud.
When I call on that Friday night
you say come on.
When I touch your skin
you let me in
we makin love.
We can make it, we can make it loud.
We can break it, can forsake it proud.
But you said oh please don't say that word
you said, "Oh now
you just blow my brain
forget my pain
we makin love.
We can make it, we can make it loud
we can break it, can forsake it proud.
Then that word on a cool blue night
You said, "Oh now!"
let me get my car
don't know who you are
that devil love.
We can make love, we can tell you how
but can't say love, word's a devil now.

Posted by Alex Smyth on 07/08/03 at 02:52 AM It is very rythmic, I caught myself tapping foot before I got to the author's notes! |
