A Call To Arms

by Christel Crews

Hear ye! Hear ye!
Any male within the sound of my voice
Please lend me your ear for a minute or two
I want to enlighten you on a topic
That holds great value to me

I once heard it said that
"All the good ones are gone"
And I'm asking you now on behalf of
single women around the world
Is this true?
You see, I have been looking to disprove
this statement for some time
but my research has not granted me the outcome I desired

So, if you want to prove me wrong
and exemplify the falsehood in this statement,
I call you to come forth
Women around the world are waiting

Are you courageous enough to
step up to the lead
Are you ready to fight to set
this captive free
Are you willing to plant your feet
and not wander
Are you prepared with your
honest intensions upfront
Are you able to hold tight
through the long haul
Are you secure to openly love and
support in words and deeds
Are you stable in yourself,
your faith, and your dreams

Hear ye! Hear ye!
Any male within the sound of my voice
You are receiving your commission
Will you step up and complete the task
Are you willing to lay your life
down for a love that will last?

Excellent challenge. I was talking to my wife about the constant struggle to engage in each other's issues and not give up. What we have is a match made in heaven...in other words it began by the Spirit of God bringing us together. Sometimes struggles get so intense that we wonder if we went wrong somewhere. But then we remember to see our relationship through the eyes of God who put us together. And we look back and see how God has matured us through everything. You're not looking for a good man, you are looking for someone that God is appointing by His Spirit. There are too many matches made on earth. Go ahead and call your husband forth as you pray. He will be someone who will challenge you in areas you need to grow in, for the ultimate goal of marriage is to make you more like Jesus. And he will need you to bring out his weaknesses in order to help him grow. If he's anything like me he won't enjoy this! It's hard. These are not things we look for because we look from an earthly perspective. But set your mind on things above and lift your vision higher. Stanza 4 is something I struggle violently to be.

Hear ye, hear ye. This should be amended to the constitution. You guys should draw one up for yourselves, Then all would know where each other stands. Come on guys stand up to the plate. At the very least you might get your own POTD our of it. Fantastic Christel, way to go!
