Posted by Tim D Livingston on 06/29/06 at 04:28 AM Excellent challenge. I was talking to my wife about the constant struggle to engage in each other's issues and not give up. What we have is a match made in heaven...in other words it began by the Spirit of God bringing us together. Sometimes struggles get so intense that we wonder if we went wrong somewhere. But then we remember to see our relationship through the eyes of God who put us together. And we look back and see how God has matured us through everything. You're not looking for a good man, you are looking for someone that God is appointing by His Spirit. There are too many matches made on earth. Go ahead and call your husband forth as you pray. He will be someone who will challenge you in areas you need to grow in, for the ultimate goal of marriage is to make you more like Jesus. And he will need you to bring out his weaknesses in order to help him grow. If he's anything like me he won't enjoy this! It's hard. These are not things we look for because we look from an earthly perspective. But set your mind on things above and lift your vision higher. Stanza 4 is something I struggle violently to be. |
