Graffiti Descending by D. Xavier BariLong have the eyes watched the scrawl,
the bellow and the call of the wild
stain upon streaks of active thought
spontaneously erupting into themes
ranging from love through wanderlust.
These statements wailing over tidings
of giddy-minding and dime novel irony,
off the beaten path past little windows
where the tiny minds and troublekinds
unleash empires of madness in lockstep.
Mock urban posh wrought with suburban din
and meek, simple dreams sliced wide open
where the great whites circle feverishly,
the prattle assailing the sanity in ways
that no amount of whitewash, nay eyewash,
can hope to remove from crumbling walls. 06/29/2003 Posted on 06/30/2003 Copyright © 2025 D. Xavier Bari
