To Hate Confusion

by Christopher Shin

Maybe it is me,
or maybe it is the world
that closes around me.
I feel my determination
slowly float away.

I try swallow a spoon
of hope down as quickly as possible.
Only to fear a little
doubt in my very soul.
They cards and runes
tell me that I am being
tested.

Maybe it's just to
see if the world is really that insane.
I feel so confused so many times,
and angry rises in my throat
easily like the restless sea.

The sun burns to many holes in my eyes,
and the specs of joy have left me
when she became less of a friend
and more of my own worst enemy.

If I could sum up and weigh my life
currently I would say I have
come out more confused then when
I started.

Evocative slice of introspection. Can strongly relate to parts of this.

I feel confused more so now then when I was born, too. Nice read. Thanks for sharing.

Even though poems with personal meanings that no one understands rock, this one (one we relate to) is really good. It's like saying, "Here. Here's a poem to describe your life. Have fun."
