lightbulb moons by Andrew S Adamsa lightbulb moon carreses my window pane
again it reflects all the life and death
this room has many stories to be told to you
and so many more that i cant say i've ever seen
but something constant
lacking like the sun, never more burning
at the dawn than at twilight,
always shines upon these nights. this
flickering hope of a better sleep
this night where i'm in so deep,
a light will shine on me, and i will
try to shut you out- not because i
need the sleep, but because i hate the warmth.
tonight, my conscience and being are clouds
but there is still a moon shining bright right
through it all. i would grope for the lightswitch
but i couldnt reach you anyhow; i was never in your heart.
i'll sleep with the light on tonight;
not because i'm afraid of the dark.
you are all i dont know why. 06/21/2003 Posted on 06/21/2003 Copyright © 2025 Andrew S Adams
