mommy

by Michele Schottelkorb

“mommy” cried the woman-child
“i miss you oh so much”
peering into photographs
yearning for her touch

“mommy” screamed the woman-child
“i am sad for all your pain”
running through her dreams at night
searching for the rain

“mommy” whispered the woman-child
“i’m embracing you with my heart”
walking with her head held high
praying for a fresh start

“mommy” giggled the woman-child
“remember the stories we’d tell”
dreaming within limbo
not in heaven nor in hell

“mommy” bellowed the woman-child
“do you hear me? i am right here”
fumbling through this troubled abyss
remember i’m always near

“mommy” smiled the woman-child
“i’m holding you every night”
sleeping oh so peacefully
somehow it will be alright…

Hi Michele, It's beautiful, yet sad too. She misses her Mommie so much. No matter what the age, ya still would miss them. May ya feel peace and joy within. Jean

all of us, owe or existences to a woman child and I am glad to have been born of such, a woman or a child who was never torn between the two and it is somehow warming to know that when a woman is with child that child is as well with woman. and this poem is with muse and mused by those and one in particular who is not a woman but man child.

I can't speak for everyone, but I will always be a child. In my personal story, I would be crying "daddy". It is a painful yearning, but I believe in the end we all find our mommies and daddies.
