One more faerie?

by Ginette T Belle

melodramatic and flawed
there couldn't be a big enough pot
to contain the bubbling, boiling visions
that cloud (yes cloud) her mind

and why she chooses to hover
far above us all
trying to sell herself with her cryptogram tales
are far beyond me
because her thoughts are quite lucid
and easy to pin down

if she could only manage to walk down
JUST ONE STRAIGHT PATH
instead of crashing into bushes
and stumbling aimlessly in thorned roses

if she could only manage to contain
that pulchritudinous self that dances in the shadows
and comes out only when caught unawares (sweet, precious, rare moments)
and sink below the sludge and terror that tries to drown us whole

perhaps she could avoid my horribly capricious path
and become one more faerie lighting the way home

I like the semi-surreal almost cryptic tone and message to this (autobiographical?) poem.
