i was answered by Charlie Morgansaw a man with a sign that said "will work for food."
so i asked him, "food who?"
his eyes, crowded so full with the hurts from his past
there was no room for hope, looked into my soul until
i winced from his pain which(by now)had become mine.
as my laughter died inside, i was answered.

Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 04/20/03 at 01:21 AM Not sure I understand the question "food who?" With a little more clarification, this could evolve into a powerful social commentary, with so many homeless and down & outs, no matter where in the world we go. All the elements are there Charlie. |
