Two Stories Up

by Charles J Hannan

The little guy looked out of his window
At the world beneath him
Two stories up and bored on a rainy day
Playing with the tonka trucks
Are getting on mom's nerves
And the uncle wiggly game is missing some pieces
G.I. Joe lost his head in a battle
Dapper Dan has already tied his shoes
What's a boy to do?

Rain won't stop for another day
So the bike stays dry in the hall
Charles M. Shultz keeps a smile on his face
Maybe some tv for a while...just four channels though
And this crazy glass bird
Just keeps on drinking water

Two stories up and bored on a rainy day
Jacks is a stupid game
But the ball is always fun
Bouncing off the wall
And getting on mom's nerves
Setting up the mouse trap game just to watch it work
This little guy will grow up just fine

Wonderful imagery Charles, and a wonderful look back at your childhood. God, I miss those Tonka trucks. :o)
