Caitlin: 2-to-1

by Andrew S Adams

i couldnt ever say the words
that could heal the wounds
separating us on either side
of the days and the nights.
there is a hairline difference
where the hair falls on your face-
and where i always wanted to kiss,
and where my intentions always missed
their intended targets.
i remember those nights so close
within a breath of sweetness
but slowly slipping in the defeated embrace
of each others arms to soften the blow.
these feelings i would never know-

but my sanctuary was always your arms
my home was always your heart.
my mind was always set on one path
which my feet told me to break from.

mind, heart and feet.
and i always walk away-
the loser of my own battles.

Author's Note: i dunno.. take whatever from it.
