jaded rainbows

by Andrew S Adams

the colors will
only slightly fade-
but a perfect rainbow
isnt so easily made.
the tones will blur and bend,
the prism will slice the light.
but you must understand,
nothing will get it quite right.
there is no faking
what has been so long in the making-

i love,
i am who i am.
but getting shot down
and getting pushed around
and getting knocked to the ground-
all of this adds up to a faded,
jaded rainbow.

It's lovely (hey look it's my favortie adjective). Who wants to live in a world of black and white anyway?

yeah we're all rainbows - individuals with multicolored lives, experiences and talents. but with people always putting us down, people telling us we wont amount to anything, we can lose ourselves and believe that maybe they are right - that we are no good. Congratulations on your POTD.
