Searching for a Sign

by Thomas K. Hunt

Waiting for enlightenment
Searching for a sign
That will lead me to tomorrow
Lead me through the end of time

I'm stuck at a crossroad
I'm on the boarder line
Cool within the darkness
Waiting for the sun to shine

Always waiting for tomorrow
Always searching for that sign
Is your truth the word?
Or just a game for the mind?

Show me this light
That you claim to see
Your eyes see what mine see
Where can it be?

A belief is hard to come by
But essential to the soul
Give me something worthy
Before I grow to old

I'm on the bank of the river
Please lay me gently in
Bless me with its water
Let me be born again

Author's Note: A childhood friend of mine has become a minister...To see him back then who would have thought??? But I see him so content and in peace I wonder what brought about the change.
